The 22nd Seoul International Conference on Generative Grammar

Virtual Conference
Join us online for the virtual SICOGG Conference

We will see you online! To adapt to the current situation related to COVID-19, the SICOGG Organizing Committee has come to the decision to transform the 22nd Seoul International Conference on Generative Grammar (SICOGG 22) into a virtual meeting.

The 22nd Seoul International Conference on Generative Grammar (SICOGG 22) will take place online from August 12 through August 14, 2020 as a virtual conference, due to current health concerns and travel restrictions related to COVID-19. It is the first time in its history that SICOGG will be run online. SICOGG 22 will be co-hosted by the Korean Generative Grammar Circle and Center for Area Studies at Gyeongsang National University.

Inspired by other similar online conferences, and in particular the virtual implementation of GLOW 43 and AFLA 27, we have decided to turn the conference online and virtualize SICOGG 22 – the main colloquium, the poster session, and the workshops. Our vision is to provide a free, globally accessible meeting in which neither the speakers nor the participants need to travel. To run the virtual conference successfully and effectively, some of the SICOGG 22 Organizing Committee members and a small number of local participants will gather at Gyeongsang National University, which is located in Jinju, Korea, while the conference is in progress.

SICOGG 22 will consist of a general session, three workshops on topic and focus, and a series of lectures by the plenary speaker. The main theme of the general session is ‘The Syntax-Pragmatics Interface in Generative Grammar’. The confirmed invited speakers are as follows:
